*Before I start this episode, I wanted to tell you that there is new version of the Substack App that launched today! Many people love as an easy way to read their favorite Substacks (including this one :). See what you think, and tell me how you like it! Thanks!

I consider myself to be a pretty compassionate person. When someone cries, I cry. You don’t want to see me at a wedding, during the end of any romantic comedy, or watching Super Bowl commercials. When someone is in pain, I want to help—I’ve got my mom first-aid kit handy! But the times when I find myself having a really hard time finding compassion is with my children when they are upset about things that are seemingly trivial to me.

Does this make me a mean mom?

Maybe.
