Episode 43: Do the Homework

Learning something doesn’t mean anything unless you put it into practice.

Several years ago when I was dabbling back into tennis as an adult, I started taking lessons at our local public courts. The coach I found for lessons was in his 70’s and kind of grumpy, but he seemed like he knew what he was doing. My kids were both still young, and I wasn’t quite ready to dedicate too much extra time to my own hobbies. A weekly lesson felt like a good way to get some exercise and refresh my tennis brain.

However, after a few weeks of weekly lessons, he told me he wasn’t able to teach me anymore.
